Morgan Dollars
1878-S	MS64	PCGS 37833000 Choice	$375	Dual Sided Toning, Brilliant Frosted Luster, Swirling Cartwheels, Perfectly Original. GFRC Cost Basis! - Since starting the GFRC business, there has always been an affinity for toner Morgans. Over time, I've been hand selecting CAC approved toners with coloration that is consistent with originality expectations. Let's face it, there are ample amounts of retoned Morgans out in the market with what I consider to be unnatural colors. This 1878-S example offers the classic obverse aquamarine, copper-gold, and blues on the obverse and delineated green and copper-gold on the reverse that could have paper origins. Accurately graded with brilliant frosted luster and swirling cartwheels. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder with CAC approval.
1880-S	MS66	CACG 253897991 Gem	HOLD $375	Superb Gem, Partially Mirrored, Spinning Cartwheels, Super Eye Appeal, Gerry Fortin Collection. Final GFRC Sale! - This superb gem 1880-S Morgan is just back from CACG grading after residing in my bank box since 1989. The fields are mirrored, as many are found of this date. Brilliant reflectance is must pleasing while the cartwheels are a spinning thrill under a bright light. The cheek is pristine consistent with the certified grade. The peripheral toning augments the overall eye appeal. Housed in new CAC Grading (2023) holder and graded consistent with CAC approval standards.
1880-S	64Star	NGC 4266023004 Gem	$400	Partially Mirrored, Brilliant Reflective Luster, Swirling Cartwheels, Gem Eye Appeal. This 1880-S Star rated Morgan is an unquestionable gem with exceptional eye appeal. Both NGC and CAC have certifications have noted this fact. This is one of those "wow" coins that will be a prize in a type set or a regular Morgan dollar set. It is more than appropriate to issue a JUST BUY IT NOW recommendation to do this coin justice. Housed in newer NGC holder with edge view insert and fresh CAC approval. Previously sold by GFRC October 2021 and back to the price list at the prior sale price.
1881-S	MS66	PCGS 48472667 Gem	$300	Steely-Frosted Radiance, Gem Surfaces, Light Peripheral Rose-Gold. GFRC Cost Basis! - Flashy steely-frosted radiance is promptly noted when enjoying this 1881-S Morgan under a bright light. The viewing experience is undisturbed as the fields have claims to being partially mirrored. Spinning cartwheels further enhance the overall presentation. Light rose-gold toning is amplified on the GFRC images as this piece's coloration is much lighter in-hand. . Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2024) holder.
1886-S	AU55	PCGS 46903364 Choice	HOLD $345	Low Mintage San Francisco Date, Golden-Gray Frosted Luster, Swirling Cartwheels, CAC Approval. GFRC Cost Basis! - Faint golden-gray obverse patina is transparent to the underlying steely luster on this lightly circulated 1886-S Morgan. The reserve patina is deeper with the same obverse hues. This color consistency validates the originality. The low 750,000 piece mintage has made this a popular date since the B. Max Mehl auction sales of the early 20th century. This date remains scarce as few were found in the 1982-1964 Treasury bag release. A notable example with much character that is sure to please the new owner and a JUST BUY IT NOW recommendation. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2023) holder with CAC approval.
1898-S	AU58	PCGS 47531318 Choice	$435	Attractive Slider, Steely Radiance, Vibrant Cartwheels, Light Gold Patina. GFRC Cost Basis! - Another better San Francisco strike that has been carefully handled with limited rub on the cheek. Under the desk lamp, steely radiance is noted along with swirling cartwheels. The cheek is unblemished and pleasing. A well balance Morgan that is worthy of a CAC only collection. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2023) holder with CAC approval.
1900-S	MS62	PCGS 47531320 Choice	$650	Steely Fields, Swirling Cartwheels, Treasury Release?. GFRC Cost Basis! - Steely fields offer brilliant radiance on this 1900 San Francisco struck Morgan that was probably part of the ongoing Treasury releases that culminated in multiple bags arriving to the market during the early 1960s. This is unquestionably choice with steely radiance and swirling cartwheels. Obverse chatter, consistent with bag storage, is accurately captured by the assigned grade. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2023) holder with CAC approval.
